Born in Rome (Italy) Alberto Mayer graduated in law from USP and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in Finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He did long career inside the Fiat Group, begun in 1973, when he joined as Assistant to the CEO, to the project of automobile manufacturing in Brazil in partnership with the State of Minas Gerais. Within the group he assumed responsibilities in the areas of purchasing and exporting of Fiat Automóveis; was Administration Director of Banco Fiat and Commercial Director at Fiat Administradora de Consórcios. From 1984 he was Treasury Director of Fiat do Brasil. In 1990 he took charge of the Project Development and Real Estate areas, bringing fpr the Fiat Group to Brazil COMAU, automation and services in the automotive industry, and IVECO, Fiat’s truck automaker, of which he was general counsel as well as responsible for Financial Services and Institutional Relations for Latin America until 2010, having been directly responsible for the contract to supply the Brazilian Army with Amphibious Armored medium vehicles on wheels.
Presently Executive Chairman of ANIP System which comprehends ANIP – National Association of tyre Industry; Reciclanip – Association of reverse logistics of scrap tires and SINPEC-Industry Union of the tires, inner tubes and camelback industry and President of Sipcam UPL Brazil S.A., agrochemicals.
In 2012, was elected President of the Ferrari Club of São Paulo and Director of Italcam (Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, industry and Agriculture), where he has the position of Secretary of the Advisory Board of the entity and Vice President of the Environmental Committee. He was also, for ten years, Vice President of ANFAVEA – National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers, leading trucking industry related activities, credit and financing activities and foreign trade.
