Vilmar Fistarol began his professional training as a metallurgic technician, with a specialization in casting from the Escola Técnica Tupy de Santa Catarina. Later he received a degree in Business Administration from the Universidade de Caxias do Sul and opted for education abroad, pursuing an MBA at FDC/Kellog School of Management (USA) and an MBA at FDC/INSEAD (France).
His professional trajectory began in 1991 when he was contracted by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in the purchasing area, serving various parts of the Group.
In 1994, the executive undertook a new challenge at Fiat Automobiles in Italy, where he was manager of Product Development for just over a year. Upon returning to Brazil at the end of 1995, Fistarol maintained his post as Manager of Product Development and Supplier Quality.
From 1997 to 1998, the executive took on the role of Head of Purchasing at Fiat Automobiles in Cordoba, Argentina, and from 1998 to 2000 he worked in Italy again as the Global Director of Purchasing.
After a joint-venture between Fiat and GM, Fistarol became the executive director of Motor Purchasing for Europe and upon returning to Brazil in 2001, he worked in this same post until 2005, serving Latin America and Africa.
In 2005, Firstarol became Head of Purchasing for Fiat Automobiles for Latin America and in 2008 he took on another business in the group. The executive remained the director-president of Teksid for Nafta and Mercosul until the middle of 2010. That year, Fistarol returned to Fiat as Head of Human Resources for the Group and executive vice-president for Fiat Automobiles until the end of 2011.
Subsequently, for almost two years, Fistarol returned to Torino, Italy as Head of Global Purchasing and became part of the Fiat Chrysler global Group Executive Council (GEC).
In 2013, the executive assumed the role of president of CNH Industrial for Latin America – the holding company for the brands CASE Construction, Case IH, New Holland Construction, New Holland Agriculture, Iveco and FPT Industrial -, and became a member of the CNH Industrial global Group Executive Council (GEC).
